Smash 5 Seems To Be All The Rage...

...yet I have not seen a single question asked about what controller support it will have. This is important regardless of how much of a Smash fan you are and how you play it. The NX has yet to unvieled so we have no idea what its native controller(s) will be like. We also don't know if it will be backwards-compatable and if so what controllers it'll support.

  • @Naruto There's NO way the NX won't have USB Ports. That also, however, doesn't guarantee Gamecube Controller compatibility whatsoever. I stated this before but I really feel the need to emphasise that Official Nintendo Gamecube Adapter ONLY works with Smash 4. If you put in a Wii game that supports Gamecube Controllers then it won't. It's better than nothing but it was lazily created.

He is a huge source of information.

  • Most, if not all of the target audience that bought the Wii is gone, and GAMERS are the people that Nintendo should be catering to anyway.

  • Um...that's the whole concept behind ditching the "Wii" name. They want all gamers of all types to look at the NX as something entirely new as opposed to being an upgrade. Nintendo confirmed that processing power isn't their main focus and that they are working on a concept that they don't want their rivals to know about yet. This reminds me of the original Wii. Motion controls were barely...

Anyway I think I understand where they are coming from in terms of being so secretive. I am going to make a bold statement. Mark my words the NX will change a key concept in videogaming permanently for the better.

  • Funnily enough, just today I really looked into Dr. Serkan Toto and he seems very legit.

  • Yeah I was astonished when I really started reading his posts on Twitter earlier today. I knew beforehand that this guy is a big deal but I apparently had no idea as to how big of a deal he actually is. I'm REALLY happy I found out about him.

  • What if the video games were holographic and that's their secret? Most probably not but that would be pretty cool haha.

  • Actually Nintendo mentioned VR technology but that isn't this mysterious key concept they are working on. Whatever it is I truely believe it will be major. Nintendo created the NES/Famicom controllers, added an analog stick on the Nintendo 64 controller, and they added motion controls with the Wiimote. They have always been at the forfront as to how we interface with games. Here's a very...

Obviously this isn't why I believe what in my convictions regarding the NX. I believe all of this because to me Nintendo practically said they are tired of their rivals copying their concepts. Add that with a public statement from...

The Wii was the weakest console in that regard during the last console generation and look at how much of an impact it had in videogaming. The Wii also started the Virtual Console business which is something I COMPLETELY forgot to mention. I'm amticipating...

  • ...the NX SO MUCH that I feel like it is driving me crazy. Nintendo still needs to get their act together with third-party support which IS a genuine concern of mine. Their track history hasn't been solid in that regard in a LONG time and I would be lying if I said otherwise. Anyway I truly do wonder if I sound like a blind rambling Nintendo fanboy with these posts...heh.

  • For me, if it can get about the same amount of 3rd party support and Storage as the PS4 and XB1, and a decent controller, I'm sure it will turn out good.

  • The processing power is a mystery but I don't think it's a mystery that Nintendo learned that they need FAR more internal storage for the NX. Also we all want more third-party support man and these stories I've read about certain third-parties not getting NX development kits isn't exactly easing my concerns.

  • Also Rogan your comment reminded me of something I got wind of before E3 but didn't fully look into before. http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20160530PD201.html My research keeps going back to this source so it's probably a safe bet that what's stated in that link is legitimate.

  • My thing I hope is that Nintendo learn their mistakes what they did with the Wii U and come up with better marketing and fully support third party companies and embrace the mature games. They don't need to repeat the same mistake that they did with the Wii U (Despite that it's a good console).

  • Well guys I'm going to close this discussion. I have an idea I want to post about but the subject might stray out of NX territory. Originally this post was created because I was fed up with how many people were talking about a Smash title on the NX without taking the NX as a console into account. My next discussion will have the NX as a subject of interest so if anyone was interested in my...

I also encourage anyone who is reading this that did find my posts interesting to look into the links I have posted if you haven't already. I would continue posting here but this idea of mine encompasses how Nintendo might possibly advance the future of the videogaming industry.
