    R2-D2 all the way! BB-8 was cute and had a kid focused sense of humor (he was basically what Jar-Jar was meant to be in Episode 1, a comic relief character that was focused more on the entertainment of small children) but was really over-used and over-hyped. R2-D2 also had a strange aura of cuteness and a laid back and critical sense of humor. But of course, it all depends on your preference.
