This is the second old school gameboy game I have taken on this month, and it is just as unique and challenging as I remember from my childhood. Next, I am taking on Metroid 2. Feel free to suggest others that I can play through that are available for the 3ds.

  • Wario Land II! I find it to be better designed than WL3, because in WL2, you had the entire arsenal of Wario powers from the get go, then WL3 took those abilities away and repackaged them as unlockables. • clouded by nostalgia alone, since they never seem to have played WL2 beforehand. The longer you play WL2, the more you'll notice how unoriginal and weakly designed WL3 is. I will admit that WL3's final boss is better than WL2's though. If you ever need help on WL2's secret exits, look at my WL2 Play Journal Posts (DON'T open the spoiler tagged post) after you have finished the game once.

  • Thanks Hmmm... I do remember playing WL2 but I was probably 7 or so, so I remember very little about gameplay. Honestly, at that point I was just amazed that games like these were handheld at that time. I think that is one of the best parts about replaying these games, now, though, is seeing it through a critical eye and seeing how well they aged. I will def try and get WL2 soon.

  • I love this game more than WL2 honestly. Sure it has it's flaw, but I like the concept and it's really fun.
