Using Masuda method for shinies

Do the odds reset every time you save and end the game? For example lets say the game decides to hatch a shiny at 44 encounters, does the number change?

    There's no chains or anything when breeding. It's kind of like rolling a 600-sided die and trying to get a 5. You always have a 1/600 chance of rolling it. But if you walk away for a couple hours and come back later, you still have the exact same chance of rolling a 5.
