    any pokemon can be great in battles. if you go to a website called smogon, they have worked to put every pokemon into a series of tiers based on their usability, the higher tiers are generally the ones you want but dont forget the ones in lower tiers all have potential too.

    Weavile or Garchomp are great Pokémon to start since they're quick and have a lot of physical Attack to begin with. Be precise on how you use them since every Pokémon has a different playstyle.

    Leavanny! It can learn substitute, swords dance, and powerful grass moves like solar beam and leaf blade. It also learns false swipe, so I use one for catching pokemon.
