信州・長野のご当地料理・胡桃おはぎ。長野県は、胡桃の生産量が全国一。中でも東信地方では、古くから家の庭に胡桃の木を植えていて、冬場の脂肪分補給に用いていたという。それ故に、おはぎにも胡桃を使うことが多いのだとか。製法は、うるち米と餅米を混ぜて炊き、小ぶりの俵状に丸め、コレに胡桃で作ったタレや、砕いた胡桃をたっぷりまぶすのだそう。胡桃は健康食材として紹介されているので、ご当地に旅した際は食べてみるのもいいかも。
