soft resetting

So when soft resetting, if you want to take a break and turn your 3DS off does it shinylocke the pokemon?

    No. Shiny-locking is something different, where a pokemon is hard-coded to never be encountered shiny. There are no chain when soft-resetting, so it doesn't matter if you take a break, your odds are still the same It's like rolling a 4000-sided die to get a 12. Every roll has the exact same chance. And if you walk away and come back 2 hours later, you still have the same chance of rolling 12
