    Sonic celebrated his 26th birthday. I drew something online to celebrate it earlier, and ever since I've been reminiscing about the days of playing Sonic as a kid. I've felt nostalgia for a lot of games - Bomberman, Mega Man, Paper Mario, DDR, - but nothing tops my childhood memories with Sonic.

    I freakin' LOVED Sonic as a kid more than any other games I played. I had the games, I had the plushies, I watched the shows - I was a Sonic fanatic! Truth is, Sonic was pretty much my childhood idol. I always remember daydreaming about running as fast as he could. Sometimes I still feel that way.

    Man, Sonic was just great. I loved every game in the franchise as a kid - even the bad ones like Sonic R and Sonic Labyrinth. I have a million good memories with that franchise and all of its games. Nothing compared.

    Here are some things I remember about my childhood with Sonic: -We rented Sonic Gems Collection once and our GameCube stopped working the following day, so everybody assumed the disc broke the system. I bought it years later and I've had no problems. Heheh. -I could never get past Chemical Plant in Sonic 2 as a kid, but Scott could make it all the way to Wing Fortress. He was awesome at Sonic 2.

    -My dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas a few years ago. My reply was 'surprise me'. He surprised me by getting me a copy of Sonic 06. I returned it 2 days later. Sorry, dad. -The first video I ever saw on the internet was a Let's Play of Sonic 3. No joke.

    -Before I learned how to draw, Sonic was the only character I could make. I actually would use my Sonic plushie as a reference when drawing because I couldn't remember his porportions. -Our new computers couldn't play my Sonic 3K disc, so I went on a wild goose chase to find the original Genesis version when I was EIGHT. I never found one, but I did get Mega Collection. That was nice.

    I once drew a Sonic picture(half modern Sonic, half werewolf Sonic(I don't remember the actual name) from Sonic Unleashed) and sent it to a game magazine and guess what, the picture WAS(and my weird name too) in the game magazine. BTW I haven't finished Wind Waker yet, I started plaing it more than 2 years ago, but I guess I will finish it if I play it an hour more. I might do that today.
