Cheat or legit?
I want people's opinion on cheating in Pokémon. Do you like legit? Or do you take the easy way out?

You wanna cheat your game fine by me, but DO NOT put your illegal stuff on wonder trade and the GTS. Because that's when it crosses into my game. I should have the right to keep mine legal.

People can actually get full experience by doing story mode legit and then cheating to competitive play or for fun battles. That's mostly the reason people cheat.

You don't know 100% that those ★BR are legit. They can be legally bred 6iv and sure they can hatch shiny, but odds are slim. No it doesn't count as you cheating. But since you dont know if the person who traded them cheated or not use at your own risk in competitive play.

Besides saying breeding takes to long is wildly inaccurate. If you have the right tools and Pokemon breeding could take minutes. Breeding for shinies takes a long time but it's based in luck. I once got a perfect shiny from my first egg.

@raheem: Getting shinys is SUPPOSE to take a long time that's what makes them rare and special. That's why finding the one you've been hunting for feels so good, you get rewarded for your hard work. You say it's luck based but that's not entirely true. You have to be willing to rolling the dice over and over again, it's more about patience.

Getting a shiny is sometimes just luck. You get a shiny with Masada in 10 eggs, but your friend hatches 1000 eggs and still no shiny. The people who have a ton of shiny Pokemon don't get lucky all the time. You have to be willing to SOS or hatch a lot of eggs which takes a lot of time which to many translates as hard work.

Also to my understanding players in Japan who were caught with cheating were forced to give back all prize money when they play competitively. When you cheat merely on battle spot it may be just a game, BUT that is easy for you to say because you are the one using the cheated Pokemon.

And one more thing, if a lot of different ★s came from the same person and they were given to me as level 1 Pokemon, and I put 6 on a team, can I be seen as cheating even though all of those particular ★s were bred by someone else and trained by me?

@Shadow: It depends, if all of those shinys are 6IVs I would be VERY suspicious of them. Under the BEST possible conditions the odds of a shiny 6IV pokemon are 1/14240. So the same person giving you a team worth of 6IV if VERY questionable. if they arn't all 6IVs they are still questionable just slightly less so.

My point: Someone cheats, not the end of the world. You don't always get what you want. Let people do what they want with their game, let them get banned. They know they're at a risk already.

"You don't always get what you want", people dont have to respect your choice to cheat. They can choose to not want to battle you because of it. That's respecting your right to cheat and their right to not take part in illegitimate gameplay.

@Chimera. The ★s that I'm talking about are not competitive. As I stated before, they were bred, meaning that someone bred two Pokemon and out comes a ★. The ★ has a significantly slim chance of being competitive. If I used those ★s despite the lack of competitive stats, how exactly does this raise questions about them? This raises a red flag to me because it seems that one ★ turns into an-

automatic cheating accusation. And for a legitimate player who has a passion for ★ trades, I don't want to be seen as cheating

I dont care if people do it to me as long as theres nothing illegal involved like a pokemon with 252 evs in every stat or a pokemon having moves it cant learn or someone using unreleased pokemon or items

@Shadow: I'm a breeder you don't need to explain that stuff... When I say they are questionable I'm talking about their legality. Most 6VIs especially ones that are given away probably aren't legit. If they aren't 6IVs then this obviously this doesn't really apply to them. But regardless you shouldn't accept all shinys you didn't get yourself blindly.

@Chimera. Before I trade for ★s, I ask for legitimacy info. The thing Im worried about is using then and then getting overrun with cheating accusations. Even if they aren't competitive, people are quick to accuse you of cheating. I understand your trade warning, but if you know the info before and double-check afterward, you should be good.

Now back to my initial question: am I safety able to use ★s on Battle Spot after checking them for things like legitimate Trainer names, stats, legal IV's/EV's etc. without being suspected of using illegitimate and illegal measures?

Eh, oh well. People won't stop cheating no matter what you tell them. So I see no point of complaining.
