    A great way to use bow is to hit B right after you shoot the third arrow with a shield, you can reshoot a little faster like this, I think they made it like that so you don't just hit A and do nothing else. You can also interrupt like this if an enemy is about to attack too, it helps to counter the slowness of bows.

    I know about delay-cancelling, and I doubt it's intentional. They allow you to interrupt actions with your shield so that you can block incoming attacks at any time, especially during slow combos like the axe. The cooldown reset was more likely an oversight than anything else.
