    Drowzee in Silver. Hunting didn't exist back then, so it was obviously a random encounter.

    Random encounter. I didn't even know anything about shinies back then. I just thought that it was weird for a Ursaring to be green, so I caught it. Made a great decision without even knowing it

    Hunting did exist, just that it was at full odds without any means of raising the chances (DexNav, Chaining, Shiny Charm etc) except that eggs had a slightly better chance of hatching shiny. Igglybuff was random. It took me quite a while before I noticed it was even shiny. Even then I had to load it into Pokemon Stadium 2 to find out exactly what was shiny about it.
