I think I'm officially doomed!

Anyone remember that post I made about being able to use Shinies? Well, I just found out that you can get in trouble for receiving them on GTS, and with all the trades I've done I don't think I'm safe. I check the Pokemon's info before I trade for them, but I'm a legit player and I don't want to be banned. And this probably affects Link Trade.

  • Nope, Link Trade

  • And this isn't all about Verlis, its about whoever supports his "all Shinies are illegal" idea. That is the one thing I disagree with because while he's right sometimes, he jumps to conclusions and unfairly accuses you of cheating without proof and that's wrong, no ifs ands or buts about it

  • Why are you so worried about this? Just use a team of non-shiny Pokémon. According to every single official Pokémon strategy guide released thus far, as well as any side-by-side comparison anyone has ever done; shiny Pokémon have ZERO statistical advantages over their non-shiny counterparts. They're just rarer versions of the same thing...

  • @... I know they have no advantage over their counterparta, but who wants to be called a cheater?

If you don't own anything that's been h*cked (a precaution to avoid getting another post deleted), then no one can prove anything, or do anything for that matter! Play legit, master the game the way it was meant to be mastered. Pokémon comes down to who has designed the best strategy for the situation at hand, and how hard they worked to perfect it, not how lucky they get with link trades...

People seem to demand shiny Pokémon JUST because they're rare (or they've been mislead to believe that they're better somehow). That's not exactly much incentive to follow the trend and seek them out... The time spent getting a shiny Pokémon from someone else, is better spent training your own Pokémon to their absolute limits.

  • What exactly is the point of training? The Pokemon are garbage and unfortunately, I got Shinirs. I'm a legitimate player but seriously, WHO HAS HEARD OF A QUIET TOUCQNNON

The only thing you can't fix about a Pokémon is its nature, outside of that (within species limitations) you can correct and improve anything else... From my experience, almost no Pokémon is absolutely useless.

  • So you can train a Jolly Mudsdale

Yep; it wouldn't be the very best Mudsdale ever, but if you don't want to have to hatch many more for another nature, it could be trained to a fairly competitive level. The speed boost isn't ideal, but it definitely isn't useless, and since most Mudsdale don't use special attacks, a Jolly nature isn't that bad.
