Better than a remake, a compromise.
Rerelease Diamond, Pearl and Platinum on Virtual Console, that way nothing will be removed in a remake because that's what they like doing nowadays.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" I guess that's your philosophy on the subject, huh?

Exactly, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald were terrible games, so they remade them. Plus in an old interview someone at Gamefreak said Platinum was "the ultimate Pokemon experience", a gen 4 game.

@Christian Because I don't know you, why should you care about how I'm feeling? Plus you're not contributing to the discussion, don't comment just to say "hi".

Diamond was my first Pokemon game, I still have the original cartridge, I remember it was the only game for the longest time that had over 300 hours put into it, but then X came out and I maxed out the timer, god I love X. Besides they really don't need to be remade, can't think of anything wrong with them besides game speed, which Platinum fixes.

Games get remade for a number of reasons, usually to make money but a remake has to follow a certain list of things that have to be more than a graphical update or "so new fans can experience them" (that argument is trash and I'll get to that).

Red and Blue are technically awful games riddled with bugs and errors, so it was worth remaking. GSC was still using old gen 1 systems so it was updated to gen 4's standard, RSE are just bad games and ORAS made them slightly ok but they were still bashed. DPP have no real GLARING issues that warrant remaking, you can argue game speed but Platinum fixed that.

Plus you can still play the gen 4 games today since the 3DS is backwards compatible, meaning pokemon from sinnoh, kanto and johto are available, also ones from hoenn due to the migration mechanic in gen 4.

DPP do not need to be remade, not everything needs to be remade, besides if they were to remake it do you know how bad they would be? So much content cut just because of the graphics alone, no absolutely not, if new fans really wanted to experience them then they should go out and play them how they were intended to be played.

RSE weren't that bad imo. I never really got into DPP so I kinda wanna see what they can do with a remake

MAKE IT WORSE, they won't do anything, ORAS really didn't do anything special besides just be a graphical overhaul and ORAS got hit pretty hard by critics, and another thing they need to stop somewhere with these remakes and gen 4 makes perfect sense since speculation shows that that was going to be the last generation and Black and White were going to be reboots.

Who cares what critics think? Hint: I don't. I enjoyed the game just fine. And besides, the internet features in DPP were disabled so unless a large group of friends play together they won't be able to do things like battle online, and do trade evos. Also the internet events won't work without cheats.

That's no reason to remake a game, I have 2 3DS' and two gen 4 games, that's how you trade evolve and who cares about some event for pokemon everybody already have, we got Arceus last year remember?
Yeahs0 -
07/05/2017 9:07 PM ·Spoilers
Yeah, but Arceus was an important event for everyone. How often do you get to catch and nickname the God of Pokemon(along with Manaphy and Darkrai too) and not everyone has two DS. and what about online battling?

WE HAVE SUN AND MOON FOR ALL THAT, important event my rear end, it's just a bunch of coding who cares about lore and story, absolutely no reason to remake DPP.

"Who cares about lore and story" Um a lot of people? Lore and story are a huge part of every game. It makes people interested. I mean, if you buy a game you're gonna want a good good investment in your time right? It shouldn't all be about competition you know. And besides players like the feel of owning something.

Not when it comes to Pokemon, story, characters and all that don't matter at all, mechanics and features are what really matter because once the story is done you need something else to do, post game is the best part of Pokemon games, that's when the game really opens up.
