It's been 4 months since the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has graced the Zelda franchise, as well as the release of the Nintendo Switch. So I figured I'd share some of my thoughts and experiences of the game itself below for the occasion. Needless to say, do expect spoilers. :D

franchise has become, I shed a tear. Several. It was heaven on earth, Death Moutain looming in the distance, trees peppering the ground aghast, and the crown jewel of it all: Hyrule Castle. As well, the music in this game is quite a gem as well. I mean, there's not a whole lot to it, but when there is, it's MEANINGFUL. Mipha's theme strangely sounding like Sidon's, the tossback between Ganon's theme and Zelda's Lullaby in Hyrule Castle, the sweet, sweet melody of Rito village, honouring the Wind Waker... you're familiar with Zelda as a whole. I fully on loved how realistic the game was: Weapon durability, weather paterns, the possibility to set fire to EVERYTHING. And the fact that slashing grass simply won't earn you money. ;) But, I do have some veeeery minor things that BotW could've done better of the million things it did right. premise itself was ready! But honestly, just going after all the Divine Beasts and heading straight for the castle without anyrhing in between was kinda straightforward and a bum, especially when the Divine Beasts weren't even necessary. liked a bit more "Aid". And this game would have really been a lot more interesting if they beefed up the bosses. One of my favorite moments in this game was meeting Master Kohga. His character was great, he was charming, but most of all, he was an actual boss. One of my favorite things in a Zelda game is guessing what's your next super-baddie. Blight Ganons or epic, but can get dull after a bit.

I was actually relieved to find out Kohga was actually a boss you had to fight in order to progress the Divine Beast S.O.S other than a Blight. It was refreshing! Shame there weren't more instances like those. Finally, I would have loved some post-game content. As a Zelda game, BotW suffers the fate as well of returning to your save point before the showdown. my entire life, and I'm still far from finished with it! With the second DLC on the way, and the first already at full tilt, and the thousands of other things to do and accomplish throughout the game, this gem of a game will be with me a long time.
