So, Marshadow was made available on Showdown. Someone handed me a stall team featuring Marshadow. And I am loving it so far. Lol

    i really wish they'd implement some complex bans, like speed boost blaziken there's honestly very little complexity in it, it's very simple to just say ''this pokemon can't be used with this ability/move'' hopefully enough people will speak out about wanting that

    Maybe I'm paranoid, but I feel like because Smogon bans one move, it will still be a problem in OU to where it will be banned to Ubers. But maybe I'm just crazy.

    @Ty: That is a logical possibility. However, it is very possible that that one move is the only thing that makes Marshadow "broken." And if that's the case, then the complex ban was worth it. If not, reverse the ban.

    Honestly, I feel like he'll end up Uber even if they ban the move. He's easily one of Sun and Moon's fastest mons (besides Pheromosa). He has unresisted type coverage in ghost and fighting, and really powerful punches and a pretty good shadow Sneak. Other than priority users, not much can safely take him out.

    The main problem with complex bans is that they will very easily lead to slippery slope situations which they probably just don't want to deal with

    Like Blaze Blaziken and Aegislash without Kings Shield and others like that? If Smogon were to bring those down with those complex bans, there's bound to be a lot more that people are going to want to ask for. Deoxys S without support moves is an example, that's incredibly easy case to make for it to not be in ubers anymore since that's the main reason it was banned in the first place.

    And then there's other tiers besides OU that have things that people would want unbanned. I personally don't have a problem with complex bans but at some point it will start to become difficult to remember all the bans and they would have to be reevaluated every time a new game got released in addition to all the other things that could potentially get banned or unbanned

    Marshadow stall, I like it! :D, Marshadow actually has OK defence and sp.defence, and iirc good HP so, why not use it in stall? :) I presume it's impish/careful with 252 HP 252 Defence (or sp.defence) 4 attack? Toxic Drain Punch Spectral Theif Substitute? Nice job to the creator of that stall team :D

    @Marq: Don't they re-evaluate everything anyways when a new game comes out? And, they have their site and database that can track all that stuff autonomously. And, people already ask for way too much already. Doesn't really make much of a difference.

    Aegislash would undoubtedly be in uber anyway, it could run the same strategies with protect and still be almost as broken

    They do but as the name implies, it makes things more complex and more complicated than it needs to be. @ Tommy, but Protect instead of Kings Shield gets rid of the entirety of the 50/50 scenarios since Aegislash stays in its vulnerable form and would no longer be able to threaten the -2 attack

    i run an aegislash without kings sheild and i have to admit it is pretty broken. i use a special atracking automatise set with life orb, after automatise it can outspeed and sweep teams too easily. it basicly one shots everything. also its typings and defence make it too easy to switch into things and set up things like automatise or swords dance.

    Did those you played against know beforehand that you weren't using Kings Shield on Aegislash? It's so good of a move that people will assume you have it even if you dont. Prior knowledge that you didn't have the move would completely change their gameplan for it.

    Its deadly to offense but an offensive team would be crazy to not have a scarfer to revenge kill set up mons. Things with decent defenses can take one hit provided they aren't weak to the move and Aegislash would presumably be taking a hit on the turn it sets up and possibly another if switching into a move beforehand. its blade form would go down fairly quickly to anything it doesnt ohko
