What are the main version differences between Diamond, Pearl, and Platnium. Trying to decide which to buy.

    diamond and pearl -just version exclusive pokemon, i don't think there was a single difference in anything else platinum massive differences from diamond and pearl -bunch of plot additions including a proper postgame -many graphical improvements, some areas looking entirely different, 2 postgame areas entirely changed -lots of more pokemon are available -it takes place in winter

    Basically, there's no question. Go with Platinum. It was a significant improvement on Diamond/Pearl versions.

    Platinum is like the most deluxe version of Diamond and Pearl. So go with Platinum.

    None, aside from pokemon obtained directly as a gift through mysterygift distributions (but that's not really an issue for you anymore). Shiny-locks for encounterable pokemon didn't start until Black/White

    You must have Black and White or Black and White to transfer from Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, Soulsilver, and Heartgold because Pokebank will only transfer from Black and White and Black and White 2.
