    Thanks for the advice about Gem Fighter! When I made my suggestion about why Puzzle Fighter has over-the-top cuteness, I only had a little space left for that comment & I didn't convey everything I meant. I also didn't mean to imply that cuteness or the color pink only appealed to females. I like plenty of things that are cute or because they're cute! TBC...

    From what I read, "Super Puzzle Fighter II TURBO" was developed in response to the success of "PUYO PUYO 2", which interestingly enough took inspiration from "Street Fighter II" for it's competitive nature. The developer of "PUYO PUYO 2" believed that there weren't enough interesting characters in puzzle games, so they included the Chibi characters from an RPG series of theirs. TBC...

    My thought was that maybe CAPCOM thought that they could maximize profits if they made a puzzle game that not only appeals to the (mostly male) Japanese arcade goers who were playing STREET FIGHTER, but also to any Japanese girls/women who could be interested in what was probably a SUPER PINK arcade cabinet.     What's more likely is that is that it was designed not only as a parody of CAPCOM's fighting games but also of "PUYO PUYO 2". Almost like they were stating: "Wouldn't be funny if we struck back by doing the same exact thing!" I think that they were both satirizing the concept & presentation of PP2 & also trying to attract it's customers. They probably even wanted it to be cuter!

    It was likely made during a puzzle game craze. I think having Street Fighter characters in it boosted its popularity as well. After that, they made Gem Fighters. What im curious about, I only ever played Puzzle Fighter 2...where was Puzzle Fighter 1?

    The games included actually were 2 & 3. I thought that was weird until I read that 2 was basically a remake of 1. I was thinking about your #2 joke yesterday & suddenly I imagined how funny it would be if poop emojis replaced the characters in all of those games! Lol! Speaking of weird things & poop emojis, isn't this kind of a weird place for GEN to confront CHUN-LI? :p

    Yeah, I keep seeing the first two games going on sale but I can't justify looking at it until I've caught up on my backlog. The Xbox exclusivity on new entries in that series isn't very appealing either. How about you, have you played the first "Dead Rising"? "Devil May Cry" has never really appealed to me, should I be thinking about it? RYU beat me on the third round.

    I think I played devil may cry 4, but it was a demo. But I have played Bayonetta, which was made by the same team. I hear the two games are very much alike, just make the protagonist a witch instead of a demon, lol.

    Here's some pointless chunli information. XD Did you know besides having her own movie and comic book, she also had one spin off game and a small series of magazines about herself? Sadly the game was a pachinko machine, and I can't even read the magazine. But the magazine had a bunch of kewl and cute pictures of chunli. Lol

    I actually learned about the magazine from an old fan website that no longer seems to function. It was a site where I learned a lot about chunli. What was funny was they had a rival site that was for Cammy fans. But I did learn a lot from the site, like chunli's favorite movie star is Bruce Lee, and that she's a pretty good sharpshooter. :)
