Topic of the Week: Star Fox Zero If the game was released on the Switch, would the reception be more positive? I think so.

  • You need to remember that the games story and lack of krystal caused the millenials to have a meltdown. I really can't imagine this game working without the game pad.

  • The game is built around the gamepad. If they released it on Switch they would need to rework a lot of the game. Zero is only really Zero because of the controls. Remove that literally nothing stands out about the game. Series is really saturated with releases of variations of the first game. Really needs a proper new game.

  • Probably. The game got a lot of negative reception due to the dual screen play.

  • Also, I know how to use the controls but I'm saying that's what hurt the game's sales. No flamewars please.

The game can work without the second screen and gamepad but I see where Angelfox is saying. Motion Controls are really the one thing that sets Zero apart

  • Motion aiming can be done on Switch. It can work without a second screen but the game is heavily designed at times for you to have both. The controls are set to first person camera but the game wants you to have third person camera input. By the time they got around to changing and adjusting everything it wouldn't be Zero.

  • Single screen and optional gyroscopic and would work great with the Switch as Splatoon had proved. Of course you would have to revamp the buttons for firing, boosting and breaking to A, B, Y and X and barrel rolling to the shoulder buttons while the left stick was for aiming. People weren't a big fan of Zero's button layout.
