This whole amiibo thing is getting out of hand. It's gotten to the point where every game Nintendo makes has content gutted and sold back to us in the form of expensive toys.

@JroViens- Conspiracy Theory: Nintendo is hiring scalpers so they can charge us 5x the MSRP behind the scenes! @LoneWolf- Me too, I can't support those business practices. I feel like Nintendo's approach is even worse considering it affect almost all of their games. If they wanted to make all the amiibo work specifically with their own Skylanders type game I would've been fine with that.

@TheFunkLab, it wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to your theory. Nintendo isn't the only one doing this marketing scam. They are just doing it poorly compared to PS and Xbox. You pay about $60 for a standard game, another $20 to $30 for the additional dlc. Making one game upwards of $100, all for content we used to get for free for beating a game.

@Jeremy- I hope your right @Ryoko-kun- If you like collecting amiibo that fine, but you should know that it sends a message to Nintendo that you don't mind them gutting your game for content and selling it back to you.

@LEX- They are forcing me to buy amiibo if I want to have the complete experience. @JroViens- We used to praise Nintendo for being one of the only companies to make a complete experience day one in the box, no patches. It looks like those days are over unfortunately.

I wouldn't consider extra costumes, extra energy tanks, etc as complete experience.

You don't think hard mode should be included? Sound test? That's pretty standard stuff. Where do you draw the line?

That's all superficial stuff. Not every game comes with a sound test or hard mode. Does your gaming experience change wih it? No. It'd be different if a game was missing the final level or some core element.

Well I respectfully disagree. I think it's ridiculous for them to charge us for content that could easily fit on the cart. It's day one on-cart DLC in the form of amiibo. We used to make fun of other companies for not being as consumer friendly as Nintendo, and now we defend the business practices we used to ridicule.

I really agree. The only amiibos I own are the Midna and Wolf Link that came with TPHD and a Tom Nook one a friend found for cheap and thought would be funny to give me. I'm also not a fan of DLC and very rarely buy it. I did buy BotW's DLC by the way. It all is just about withholding content, then making us pay more for what should have been there in the first place.

I also bought the Old Hunter's DLC for Booldborne. I think that game is perfect as it is, but since I loved what they gave us so much I decided to buy the extra content, which I still haven't made it all the through yet, since that game's so hard.

Mario Kart 8's another game I bought DLC for, but I refuse to by the Smash Bros DLC since I felt ripped off by how they handled that.

@Duke Haman- Same here. I'm not a huge fan of DLC, so I only buy it for games I really like. I just think there's is a right way and a wrong way to go about doing it.

Yeah, like I said, I only rarely buy it since I think it's usually just promoting bad behavior. I'm really hoping that we'll get a Bloodborne 2, since I loved that game so much, so hopefully buying that might support that series. Oh yeah, I bought DLC for Hyrule Warriors, ut I love that the game gives so much content for each DLC pack. And being a big Link's Awakening fan, it was pretty hard to

Mario Kart 8 DLC was legit. A great example of DLC done right. It's a shame we never got proper battle mode tho until the Switch. I didn't buy any Smash DLC either. I think they may have screwed the pooch by releasing figures if all their most iconic characters at the same time. I mean, how many Zelda amiibo a can you sell?

I wish more companies would do story DLC like Rockstar did for GTA IV. Both packs were released well after the game came out, added a significant amount of content,and were well worth the price.

Some of the DLCs of Nintendo has been getting better. BOTW's DLC has been good and there will be some MK8D DLC for the Switch as resources said there will be, here's And hoping that Smash Switch Deluxe would have everything from the DLC unlocked by default like MK8D had. And I thought the Hyrule Warriors' DLC was great, and most likely Fire Emblem Warriors is gonna have DLC.

@LinkOpallMM- Huh, I didn't know they were adding new content to MK8DX. Do you know what kind of content they're planning on adding?

That is unclear as of yet. But judging from what I read, Nintendo is most likely gonna make more with the MK8D and base MK8D is basically the battle mode. But here's hoping we can get Blue Pearl Rosalina. ;)
