With its large, colorful, well-defined character sprites set against swiftly moving multilayered scrolling backgrounds, Air Zonk became an undeniable testament to the graphics pushing power of the TurboGrafx's miraculous 8-bit CPU. Even the hardware's sound chip was brought to the forefront, producing music that easily surpassed its CD sequel, Super Air Zonk, in almost every conceivable way.

    Charlie: The TG-16 is a home console that was released in 1989. Even though it had an 8-bit CPU, it used a 16-bit graphics processor, which allowed it to compete with the Sega Genesis & Super NES during the 16-bit era. rowkins: It means "peace among worlds"...

    Dave: We've been lucky to see a couple of TG-16 releases each month & so far I've been happy with the selection of titles. Tom: Air Zonk is perhaps my favorite cute'em up of all time, with both Keio Flying Squadron & Magical Chase nipping at its heels. Mega: What can be said? If they weren't alive during the Golden Age of Gaming, then they're not going to recall consoles like the Neo Geo or TG-16.

    Dave, as one TurboGrafx owner to another, you're missing out on some truly astounding conversions! Both the image quality & sound of these games have to be experienced to appreciate the effort that went into faithfully converting them. Some people have complained about the large amount of memory each title takes up, but for me this is an indication of the amount of work went into them & it shows.
