I've mentioned before that I thought Gens 3 and 4 dragged on too long because they lasted four years instead of two or three, and now that I think about it, I really do think that influenced my opinions. By the end of Gen 3, I was bored to tears of Hoenn, and it took me until the end of Gen 4 to reconcile with the region.
