今回のイラストはキハ183に乗って旅に出ているネスを意識して描きました。キハ183は1981年(国鉄時代)に北国仕様の特急列車として北海道に導入されました。現在は特急オホーツク(札幌～網走)、大雪(たいせつ、旭川～網走)、北斗(函館～札幌)に使用されています。

最近は車両前後に扉が付いた「貫通扉タイプ」が中心で、スラント(1枚目の左下に描いたやつ)はたまーに使われています。特急北斗はほとんどが貫通扉タイプです。ちなみに貫通扉タイプは「HET183(Hokkaido Express Traon 183)」の愛称を持っています。
