They said at the beginning of the game that you could change the difficulty (unless you set it to the hardest difficulty) and i tried changing it earlier but it wouldn'tlet me. So now I'm wondering... IS it even possible to change the difficulty or do you just have to wait till later in the game?

    Yes, I am aware of that but for some reason it won'tlet me change it? Like the options are all blacked out and it makes a noise to indicate that it won'twork when Intry to change it.

    I think you have to get inside the school (once you can save, visit nurse, buy items, etc). Had you past that point when you tried?

    the only way you can switch the game's difficulty is either from the title screen or once youre in the labrynth but both ways result in me not being able to change the difficulty

    I'll grab my game & see how I was able to change it later tonight. I never did, but I remember the option being there, & it allowed me to cycle between them. If you can already do that much, but it doesn't "take", you may have a corrupt save file, sadly. I've had features not work in FE Fates & SSB 3DS, but seems no one found fixes for those beyond changing out 3DS. Issues like that DO exist...

    I just loaded a save (this one had 14hrs of gameplay on it, but I play every game at a snail's pace compared to other gamers [I'm a bit OCD], so it's probably not that far into the game, but I was in the school. I clicked X>System>Settimgs>Difficulty, & it lets me change it to other difficulty settings just fine (tho not the hardest difficulty setting). What happens when you go where I am & try it

    Yeah, that's very odd. If it wouldn't allow you to change it, I was thinking you may have chosen the easiest or hardest difficulty (which won't allow changes in some games, as it explains), you may not be in the right place or far enough in the story (since I recall that being greyed out earlier, but was available once in the school), or that it's an unintended bug or file corruption. I'm stumped.
