    This is a turtle monster who said "Did somebody page the King of Awesome?!" In another RPG. I'm pretty sure he could do anything and it's not weird.

    Well we don't really see Mario travel to Bowser's Castle. We see him move on the world map which means it's quite a farther trip then you think.
