"...monster born from darkness" I still think that he is another link from a timeline, and this link turned dark and evil, filled with a burning hatred. In Twilight Princess, link is shown to be partly evil at the lanayru spring.......and the fused shadows can make anything turn to hate and demise for power. Maybe the link got the fused shadows and transformed into Dark Link.
