{an incomplete artwork} Hello to all. Earlier yesterday we learned that inevitable shutdown date for Miiverse...ya know what with greedy Big N preparing to CHARGE us for online services onna device they intentionally hindered standard internet accessibility. DEFINITELY not liking that Switch much at all compared to the WiiU! :( Well...I guess it is that time to thank you all for the time we

you wanna zip me a Wii U Miiverse friend request? We could discuss the post-miiverse in PMs that way. It's been great hanging out in the 'Verse with ya, PaPierre.

Sad to see Miiverse end soon but then again were pretty used to online shutdowns for consoles/apps over the years which pretty much started when Flipnote studio and the Wii/DS ended online services/play, but anyway it was great to read and comment on your posts over the years, maybe one day the Switch will have a miiverse successor as Miiverse was the start of a unique new chapter for Nintendo!!!

The first PaPierre post I read went into the complex family tree of the Kong family...and it was then and there I realized miiverse was my new home. Definitely agree, wii u still trumps the switch in terms of fun.

Give switch a chance and think you will love it to! As much as loved my wii U switch is far better. But kinda wish miiverse would continue on :(

Man, that stupid Switch does nothing but play 2.0 rehash on the go. No miiverse, the online communication is a joke, my friends are STILL getting DC'd on Splatoon 2 on occasion..... It's just a big, hairy fail to me. The Wii U was FAR better as a home system. Sorry to say it but to me Nintendo has gotten Dumb, greedy, & lazy.

The Wii U was value; applications like crunchyroll, TVii (while it lasted) free online, backward compatibility, multi gen controller support, Miiverse, videochat, art communities, dual screen fun, cross play on some titles with the 3DS, voice chat without need of a damn phone, 3rd party support which IS currently better time line to timeline, than the Switch. SO MUCH better

I love my Switch, but I'd love it a lot more if it had any social networking mechanism like this. Don't get down on Nintendo for moving to a paid online service, though. It's only a third the cost of what I pay annually for Xbox Live and PS Plus, and if it enables them to build a bigger, better, more stable environment for online gaming, then honestly, I'm pretty excited for it!

If you could at least message or voice chat without needing an outside product (phone) & additional outside service I wouldn't be so down on it myself. As it stands it just seems you are paying for Nintendos online hosting & it's pretty weak still from what I've heard with dropped connections, inability to connect or join friends, etc. A good service shouldn't be built of the backs of

customers who have to suffer through lousy service before Nintendo gets its act together. They need to reach into their own wallet before trying to reach into mine. I thought that's what they did when they aquired shares in that eastern online company, but looking at the results so far, I'm definitely not impressed

I'm really bummed about this! I'm glad we had the opportunity, through Miiverse, to interact —beginning with a mutual interest in TANK! TANK! TANK! Disappointed over this decision. Feels too soon and a hard blow to Wii U owners.

Nintendo doesn't care about Wii U owners. They (aside from Iwatta) never have. It didn't sell well enough to warrant any consideration by their shareholders who seem to now run things. You'd think the Switch would get some consideration & maybe get things like Miiverse, Spotify, YouTube game streaming but nope. Buy the stripped down, featureless Switch & play those Wii U games on the go

It's selling really well & offering nothing new. Heck you can play a few of WiiU games on 3DS;portability is overrated in my book. You look at the barebones of it all...what's actually offered...I find the Switch to be the most overhyped system in ages. The Wii U (aside from the portability aspect) was a much better system in the values it offered as a home console.

While I agree with Mossy, I also understand where you guys are coming from. The Switch does make you guys happy, and if Nintendo manages its development teams wisely: that portable home console should serve you well in the future. As for me, I am on a different phase in my life. While Nintendo will always be held as my favorite gaming company in my heart...and I will be saddened if they decide

to leave this industry behind [as they have done before doing videogames]...I have been gradually changing. My life is not close to what I had hoped it would be and I'm regretting several life choices. I became addicted to videogames because they offered me a way out and allowed me to use my imagination. I couldn't break away. So now I won't be purchasing another videogame system because they

are, indeed, major distractions. And costly ones at that. Even IF Nintendo decides to revert back into a less-greedy business where they won't cheap-out on their core fanbase (while also providing a LOT of content for their Switch console)...even if this occurs I choose to stay away. This is why I'm eager to continue my Miiverse acquaintanceships via outside services: when Miiverse dies, and

when my 3DS 'n' WiiU die, I will not be carrying over my games or Miiverse content. For me, I need to move on for the time being. After awhile you may get to this same point where every 'new' game is much like many games before it. Videogames may become distracting to you and only seem worthwhile when playing local multiplayer with family...as Nintendo does so well!

If you're looking to make immediate changes, it's not too late. You may feel you missed out on past opportunities, but don't dwell too much on what could have been, so as not to inadvertently bypass those to come. Hope you find all that you seek for your future, PaPierre.
