    because nintendo is done with the wii u thay are on the switch now the wii u also does not have enough software to have miivers forever so they just shut it down ok every time a new consle is related the older one loses more things

    Not the only reason but one of them, so this brings to light the question, why should we invest in a system, an online subscription, and downloading from eshop virtual console if Nintendo will just up and close services not even 6 months after a new console release... is it really worth my time and money.. valid concern to have knowing what they do..

    The reason is that miiverse users topped out at like 26million, there are like 75million 3ds out in the wild... That is a HORRIBLE attach rate. That number doesnt even include the small Wii U sales. XB Live (as a pay service) has about 55million users. Miiverse just didnt pull the people in!

    The official Nintendo statement says Nintendo realizes their customers are using other social media on phones or computers, and the usage of Miiverse is slowly decreasing. Why would they continue Miiverse when the usage is dying? The closure makes perfect sense.
