*Saving Miiverse Posts* While it's true you can request a file from Nintendo containing all your Miiverse posts, this does NOT include comments. If you have any posts with comments you want to keep, make absolutely sure you save them yourself! Please see the comments for how this is done.

I get that. There isn't really a need to save any of it but I thought I'd offer my perspective anyways. Despite being feasible (for the most part) to actually save all of Miiverse, I don't expect anyone to actually succeed or even attempt this undertaking. I myself will read through what I can and only save stuff that I care to Yeah or Follow that I see in these places.

If I had to give priority to specific communities, it would be ordered as such: Korg DSN-12 (US, JP, UK) PetitComputer 3(SmileBASIC 3 JP), PetitComputer 2 (JP) SmileBASIC (US, UK), PetitComputer (US, UK) Korg M01D Art Academy, Pixel Paint (Wii U), Pixel Paint (3DS), PixelMaker, Comic Book Workshop Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer ...

... {custom stage/QR code sharing communities such as Pazuru, Tomodachi Life, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minies on the Move} Then the rest of them - start with whichever ones are your favorites.

In fact, you should probably save everything from people that you follow first before focusing on communities beyond Animal Crossing (or even beyond Pixel Maker - given the small level of creativity provided by ACNL)

I don't even particularly like most of what is posted to the Pixel Paint communities - however, I do realize that they have more inherent value then game screenshots which you could probably get yourself if you had a way to take screenshots. These communities listed here, present posted data that you will never find on your own, ever, by searching the game - because it involves creativity

Also, I know I've posted a lot already but I'd just like to elaborate a couple more things. If you think that you MIGHT get SmileBasic, EVER, then you should consider saving what is there - for many creators, this is the only place that they posted the public keys to their projects - ie. the way to download their projects. After Miiverse is gone, many of those keys will be gone - FOREVER!

Similar with Korg DSN - you may be able to make your own patches but copying what others felt was post-worthy is still useful as every person who posts is a different person, thus providing the highest diversity in thinking. While DSN may be capable of making any sound, the idea that you, yourself, will think in such a way that you'll actually create every sound worth creating - on your own, is

...unrealistic. Anyone who plans on using DSN as an instrument should take this into consideration. Now, I've already been told that there are no legal rights to synthesizer patches (only the songs created with them) and Korg themselves have responded to me, informing me that the DSN can be used commercially so long as the note arrangement is your own unique creation. Therefore, it's... useful.

You've thought this through, Tristen, it can't be denied. There will be a lot of creativity lost when this site meets its end. But you've answered your own question: Who will save all of Miiverse? No one will. It's simply infeasible. Now, I'm a Smile Basic user, so I'll definitely be checking out the community posts for any projects that interest me. Thanks for the reminder.

I've been playing around a bit more with this project...Chrome can save webpages properly as long as you open up all comments and spoilers. But it still doesn't look as nice as saving pages as a PDF (which from what I can tell look the cleanest when done on Safari. So basically, if you can't save them on Safari, your best bet is saving them as a webpage on Chrome.

Safari is what I've been using, yeah. I've been having a problem where the Miiverse bar (the one with the Login button) can sometimes randomly appear towards the end of the pdf, sometimes obscuring people's words. It's an annoying problem to fix.

I've noticed that as well. And I think it's because you're scrolled down near the bottom of the page when you save it, so you should make sure to be at the top of the page.

So, I was looking at Chrome’s webpage to PDF saving functionality, and I was able to get it to have the same clean look as with Safari (no header/footer or margins) by going to File>Print>More Settings and then 1. selecting Margins>None and 2. checking the Background Graphics box.

^For everyone else here! This might be how I do it from now on, as it would probably be quicker than doing it on my phone.

Hmm...just tried it on mine, and still had the header/footer even when I selected none, which actually cuts out part of the page. I'll stick with saving them using Safari. Thanks, though!

Yikes, well then. I clearly was not paying enough attention there. Sorry for the inconvenience!
