Might've actually like Dusk...

Even though it was more than likely just created to promote the anime in the games, like Ash-Greninja & the 7 Ash Hat Pikachu, if it was at least a natural evolution, I'd have been fine with that. But no, it's ANOTHER Event-only Pokemon. Wouldn't be surprised if it was only male & couldn't breed just like Ash-Greninja either.

  • @Jackeboy Charming. @Null Also, quick question: Are the power of Z-Moves affected by the weather? For example, would Inferno Overdrive do less damage in the rain?

    Yeahs0
  • i will test

  • It just feels really forced that we have to get the special event rockruff to get a Dusk Lycanroc, instead of having some new way to evolve it in USM. And yeah, Weather affects Z-move power.

    Yeahs1
  • yes it does less

    Yeahs0
  • @Null Probably to much effort for them to think of a new evolution method... Thought so. Thanks.

    Yeahs1
  • Just to add to the z-power/weather deal; the primal weather effects will stop z-moves too, so don't try to use hydro vortex on primal groudon: it's not gonna work.

  • You know, since the JPN name for it is twilight form, wouldn't be too much of a stretch to just have rockruff evolve during sunup/sundown for it. Oh wait, but that would mean the lycanroc forms would have to lose their version exclusivity, and that would be no fun, right? (Sorry, still kinda tilted about that stupid bit...)

  • @Tro I kinda figured that was obvious since they're affected by weather. But they're not even version-exclusives - you can find wild Midnight in Sun & wild Midday in Moon depending on the time of day.

    Yeahs1
  • ...And there's the reason for the tilt: if you can find both forms, then WHY are the evolution paths version locked?! If you couldn't, then I wouldn't be so bothered, but you can, so it just annoys me to no end. And on top of that, there's the rift at the alter... ugh, just thinking about the amount of stupid logic is ruining my mood...

  • Sorry fell asleep. What are we talking about?

    Yeahs1
  • "It also confirms Rockruff that have the ability Own Tempo, which is currently only available from the distribution, can evolve into Dusk Form between 17:00 and 17:59 at Level 25." So they DID think of a new way to evolve it, but they still made it an Event-only anyways. Just another reason to hate it I guess.

    Yeahs1
  • Yeah, no idea why they had to make it so convoluted, instead of just saying "Hey, any rockruff can evolve between 5 and 6pm into Dusk Form." Strange that they gave Rockruff own tempo. Maybe that's a sign that it will be breedable, and that all of its offspring will be an Own Tempo Rockruff, but that's probably asking too much.

    Yeahs1
  • Not too much new stuff in the Direct. But two new Ultra Beasts, so hopefully that means we will see more new UBs or Alola Forms. Confirmed that there will be a Celebi event in Gen 7 for people who buy Gold/Silver for the Virtual Console. And if you preorder the digital versions of USM you get....wait for it....12 Quick Balls. Please calm your excitement.

    Yeahs1
  • @Null I guess they wanted an early bonus like the Munchlax with Snorlium-Z in S&M? Did they say whether or not you only get the Lycanroc Z-Crystal from it? I've always wanted a Pokemon made of Legos.. although I guess 'technically' it isn't a Pokemon. That's nice. Don't get why they didn't do that with Mew & RBY. Still somehow better than the 200 plain Pokeballs you get from the Veteran Bundle.

    Yeahs2
  • @Null "It is also confirmed that the Rockruff you get distributed to your game depends on your version. If you play Ultra Sun, it will know the move Tackle, Bite, Fire Fang, Happy Hour. If you play Ultra Moon, it will know the moves Tackle, Bite, Thunder Fang, Happy Hour. Both are Level 10 and come with a Focus Band attached."

    Yeahs2
  • Lmao, so that's what happened to that comment. I meant to put that on another post. Yeah, looks like the Lycanium Z is just going to be obtainable in-game. And they did do it with Mew and RBY...in Japan. Also, it's good that we at least get coverage with Tough Claws + Fang move, but it sucks that it probably won't get Sucker Punch.

    Yeahs1
  • @Null Was wondering why you Posted that here. Guess that'll mean people will choose Stone Edge over Rock Slide... wooh. Odd that they did it for Celebi, consider there was the 20th Anniversary Celebi and the PokeBank one not to long ago. So in other words, you have to decide between having a Move to cover your Water weakness or your Grass weakness. Glad they're making it worse. Unintentionally.

    Yeahs1
  • what?

    Yeahs0
  • Wouldn't evolving it during dusk suffice?

    Yeahs0
    Played
  • +Yoshiko It's been confirmed that it evolves at dusk, between 5-6 PM. ... That still doesn't change the fact that you can only get one through the Event and not normal gameplay.
