Buy and always carry lots of fish bait to feed to all the blue fish you see, as they help you fill out your sea map. Do the camera sidequest on Windfall island as soon as possible and get the colour camera so you can take colour photos of bosses/mini bosses to get the figurines in the Nintendo Gallery, otherwise you'll have to rely on finding boss photos in Tingle bottles to complete the gallery.

Oh and have fun collecting and/or sending Tingle bottle messages while you can, because Nintendo is shutting down Miiverse forever this November, so when that happens the Tingle bottle feature of this game will no longer work as it requires Miiverse to function (which is another reason you don't want to be relying on Tingle bottles for Nintendo Gallery photos!).
