If I didn't know any better, I'd swear this game uses real time weather from time to time. Because at the time of me making this, it's raining where I live as well! O.O

Well, sometimes it does respond to real time events coincidentally because it has the whole internal clock mechanism, there's Christmas, (Toy Day) Halloween, New Year, Thanksgiving, (Turkey Day, I think) and the Solstices and Birthays too. Then there's events like rain or harsh sun.
