    It makes sense if you pay attention to the overall story to the series. The Space Pirates needed the Metroids to complete their plans and Ridley must've caught wind of Samus being on SR388. He just so happened to get there when Samus was leaving and she had the Metroid hatchling by her side, it would've been a lot easier for Ridley to take it.

    No, it doesn't make any sense. It didn't make any sense for him to show up in Fusion or Other M, either. What makes sense is Ridley waiting until Samus is gone, and then stealing the metroid from the space station lab, which is exactly what happened. This was just lame fan-service because at this point they think everyone just LOVES Ridley to death.

    No because it makes sense in this reboot for Ridley to try to take a baby Metroid when it is nearly alone.
