Bayonetta: 1.1.5 divekick vs. 1.1.6 divekick! Which is better?

So, we all know that pre-patch divekick went at an 80° angle vertically! It could combo into itself at all percents & helped with ladder combos! But, people saw it as a problem & begged the devs to fix it! Now, the hitbox size is decreased & it sends your opponent up & away at a 60° angle!

  • (Continued) People think the angle was the problem with the move! But, it wasn't because the opponent had a wide enough DI angle that sent the opponent far away so you couldn't follow up! But, it still was able to be followed up with because of the hitbox size! The hitbox size was the real problem with the move! It's understandable that they wanted to match the visual effects around her leg!

  • But, doing that made the move extremely disjointed & allowed follow up options that shouldn't have been possible & wouldn't be if all they did was make the hitbox a little smaller! If the hitbox size was always the way it is now, we would've never had a problem DIing away/down & away from it!

  • And, this is how it should've been the whole time! If it was this small from the beginning, the disjointed hitbox wouldn't have been a problem for the opponent trying to DI away from it!

  • 1.1.5 version is still better though, as it lead to potential death despite your DI. The new one is just a landing option rather than a combo one.
