    The matchup is in Fox's favor. He can take Kirby's stock pretty easily with back air and his recovery goes high enough to be able to avoid Kirby's down air ledge guard.

    i sense there's a joke i'm not getting here but i'm gonna talk about it earnestly since i've thought about this matchup a lot everybody says kirby beats fox despite their respective placings on the tier list, and yeah it does seem that way when you look at how it plays out. kirby can crouch and just win neutral because it forces fox to approach, which kirby is really good at punishing bc fox

    lacks the range to beat out kirby's dtilt, dsmash, or grab. fox really has to work his way in. on top of that, fox doesn't have a great punish game on kirby since he's so floaty, but kirby gets big damage on fox and can edgeguard him pretty well. that said, the matchup becomes a totally different story when kirby's in the air. fox's up-and-down vertical mobility is hard for kirby to deal with,

    since none of kirby's aerials are particularly safe against him, and it's also where most of fox's more powerful and useful moves are. fox can juggle kirby really effectively and prevent him from getting back to the ground where he's strongest. so i think, with a smart fox who can play bait-and-punish in the neutral and get kirby in the air, fox might actually have the advantage in the matchup

    I also play Brawl. And Fox also wins in that game. The only Smash game where Kirby beats Fox is 64 as he is the second best, only Pikachu surpasses him.

    A running joke in the Melee community is that if Kirby beats Fox. Being that Kirby is very bad, lacking a decent kill move and being extremely light. While Fox is the most used in tournament and first on the tier list.

    Well Fox is a bit faster in Melee and the Mechanics in Melee are called “broken”. Is this true? I don’t know. I’ve never knew how SSBM worked.
