Character dialogue

Some of the Lego Dimensions characters like these have dialogue that are just voiceclips from the franchises that they're in. Why is that? Why didn't TT games just call the actors who played these characters and say, "Hey, that franchise that you starred in, we're gonna put it in Lego Dimensions. So we need you to come here and voice your character"?

    That's a good point, but some actors might not sound like their characters anymore. Like Voldemort's actor and Danien Radcliffe (Harry's actor). Maybe they do, but if not, it could be hard.

    Likely money and availability issues, some of those characters are played by professional actors after all. And whose to say they didn't try to call them up? How do you think they gotten the reprisals in the game already?

    I don't know. Calling them is just my guess of how they got some of those dudes to reprise their roles.

    I mean that's what I assume, but it the case of those guys, likely they either couldn't work out a deal, weren't available at the time or just weren't interested. I think they had to get in touch with them to at least get their approval to use their voices from archive clips and have their names credited.

    It's pretty rare when actors reprise their roles for a video game adaptation of a movie. Ghostbusters: The Video Game managed to get the main cast together again, but that was 5 years before Harold Ramis passed away, and now it probably would've been awkward to have new dialogue/older sounding voices coming from every Ghostbuster except for Egon

    @Moises Yeah, though he accepts and is proud of the fact that it'll always be part of his life, Radcliffe wants to move on from the Harry Potter series, and Cruise was likely unavailable or possibly too high profile (lack of any voice-over experience didn't help either), though the developers said he personally approved all the lines chosen for the game
