The situation with Nijima sisters is eerily similiar to Suou brothers. A lot of talk about justice, strained relationship, and their father being important figure.

Same goes for main villains. Shido is very similiar to Tatsuzou Sudou. Both are crooked, prominent politicians that are heads of conspiracy. And both are faced on board of luxury cruise ship. Granted, in Shido's case, that didn't happened in real world. Akechi takes a few elements from Tatsuya Sudou aka King Leo/EP JOKER. A sort of twisted foil to MC, and also related to main human villain.

Yaldabaoth is essentially a hybrid of YHVH and Nyarlathotep. What with calling the free will being the root of all evil and etc.

BUT ANN DOESN'T KNOW KUNG FU- I see what you mean there. I thought the biggest P2 thing was with Yaldabaoth/Demiurge. Just like Nyarlathotep, aside from the gambling with Philemon. I can't remember if Yaldabaoth had any relations with Igor aside from stripping him away from the Velvet Room and taking his place.

Things like P4U Kagatsuchi and now Yaldy continue to copy Nyarlathotep's MO. Wouldn't be easier to finally drop the "no using Tadashi's characters" rule, now that Hashino stepped down from directing future Persona games?

Rehash might be a bit much, true. It felt like P5 wanted to be darker and closer to spirit of first games, but imo, the final result is a mess, writing wise.
