Shield + Psycho Launchers Build?

For some reason the game insists on giving me psycho launchers (almost like its trying to tell me something >.>), so I figured I'd try being L for a while, any tips on what's hot and what's not? (I'm thinking cloaks + astral protection for full tank style)

  • As a combo, you can even do Iron Prison and Mindstorm for added damage!

  • So L can play aggressively as a topple lock user or defensively as a Astral Protection build or Reflect build.

  • On the topic of Virus Debuff, it's good as long as your opponent isn't outright immune to it which a large number of tyrants and Vigents are.

  • Wwwooooooowww... Y'all just made me DIZZY reading all that... (@_@) I got a MUCH longer way to go than I thought! Not sure if I'm glad I found this conversation or not, I'll let y'all know after I lie down for a bit... XD

  • Thanks for clearing that up Michael, I didn't know about the max resistance of Astral Protection so I thought Supershield was better for halving damage. :/

  • I'm surprised by how much attention this post is getting (thanks guys xD) Anyway here's what I got so far build wise… Aura: Astral Protection Buffs: Mindstorm + Shield Wall Debuffs: Tacit Censure Ranged: Stellar Ray Melee: Wild Down + Wild Smash I'm debating wether to use Starlight Kick or Atomic Hit for the last art, other than that how does this sound?

  • Looks awesome. I would put in starlight kick into this. Out of curiosity, are you planning to make an infinite overdrive build out of L?

  • Eh I don't know, I rarely use overdrive (mainly cause a suck at it), plus I'm not L (I should probably clarify when I said I'm going to be an L I ment weapon wise, not the character :v)

  • If you aren't planning to, that's fine. Make sure to put in something like fast forward to reduce Cooldown for your aura art. You want to put on some cloak arts like lightning cloak and flame cloak. If you plan on being a tank, you can put in Trash Talk. Since you are potential stacking, wild smash and bombardier are probably useless. Potential arts like starlight kick and gravity lunge will

  • deal way more damage and they can inflict topple too.

  • You also will be needing a couple Arts:Tp augments since you are not going to use overdrive.

  • Also, just a reminder, get Resistance Reducer Augments. 2 is enough to take down small fry like a millasaur. A lot (I don't know, but I think 5?) to take down more resistant fellas like Gravy.

  • It's 10 x Potential for most healing based arts sans Repair. Virus is a fun debuff. Got a Skell that does that for 8 minutes.

  • Wow. I'm learning new things everyday. Thanks for the new info Michael. About that Astral Protection build, there is some info you might be interested in, Kolenfi. If an enemy inflict [element] resist down, you can get around it by raising your resistance to 120. Also, three debuffs to watch out for: 1. Virus. If you get inflicted by that, you can't use Astral Protection = death. 2. Time Bomb.

  • 2. Time Bomb. Ignores resistances and deals absurd amounts of damage. 3. Topple. A lot of enemies use this. Topple = unable to act = death

  • Also because Astral Protection lasts for 28 seconds and takes 36 seconds to cooldown. Having something to reduce that cooldown helps immensely. If you want to get +50 resistances, you need to have Astral Protection at its Secondary Cooldown.

  • Having the skill Secondary Accelerator and 2~3 Secondary CD Reducers will greatly reduce the time to activate Astral Protection at Secondary cooldown. You also want to equip something like Aura Burst, Fast Forward or Trigger Happy to shorten the time for your initial cooldown.

This is my favorite weapon combo. My arts: Mindstorm, Shield Wall, Flame or Lightning Cloak, Starlight Kick, Gravity Lunge, Trash Talk, and Dual Dynamo.

The build was made to take advantage of both topple and combo damage. I would go into over drive and build up the count until I can sustain a good overdrive.

Then wait for level 3 cool down for Mindstorm and Dual Dynamo boosting potential. Then use Starlight Kick and the Gravity Lunge right after.
