    Thank you! I wondered the same as well. I almost believed that it was being done by 'cheating', that is using some software automated hack like some do on Switch Splatoon 2 drawing posts. However by searching a lot about Miiverse realistic drawings on Forums and Youtube I discovered there was an art exhibition in Nürnberg, Germany in 2013 called "Printing Miiverse" and they printed thousands [...]

    [...] of Miiverse drawings by dozens of Miiverse users, grid by grid. If you can try to find these videos, it is very well documented. Thet is the moment I realised it was all done by hand and that these people use dozens upon dozens of HOURS perfectly placing pixel for pixel into a perfect drawing. It just blew my mind. I'm nowhere near their level but they inspire me so much.

    Also I finished Art Academy so I have drawing education. However mastering Miiverse drawing tool is on a whole another level from traditional drawing and painting.

    These people (of whom a lot are also Art Academy students I believe), literally had to FIGURE OUT how to make Miiverse drawing tool work for them to create such stunning sophisticated pieces. So they developed certain kinds of grayscale grids, all of them are today very well known and spread out through the Miiverse community.
