Brawl's launch rate compared to this game

Interestingly enough, you can KO an opponent with a strong attack or air attack much easier on Brawl. But it seems that they made it harder to KO this way in Smash 4, making Smash attacks mandatory to KO opponents.

  • But in Brawl one can Momentum Cancel, which helps you survive more, so it's a 50-50

  • Smash attacks mandatory to KO? Lets think of the most common ways to lose stocks against characters. Robin's up air, Cloud's back air or Limit Cross Slash, Donkey Kong's up air or back air, Diddy's back air, Fox's back air, Samus's back air, nuetral air, and Charge Shot, ZSS's up B, back air, and flip kick.

  • Not really. Smash 4's launch rate feels like everyone is doing Momentum Cancel automatically. Brawl is still easier to launch because the easier CPUs doesn't do that. Though the harder CPUs does use Momentum cancel.

  • NOOOOWAY. Momentum cancel is basically a broken version of DI. In SSB4, one can jump after hitstun to pseudo momentum cancel, but the effect only let's you survive a meer 1-3%, unlike in Brawl where one survives much more.

  • DI exists in every Smash game. Its a fact that in every Smash most kills are gotten through arials.

  • Prsboys@ DI exists in every Smash game except 64.

  • Of course there are exceptions. Most up airs can combo after a up smash to KO an opponent. But i doubt if someone can KO a 120% opponent with Link's Side strong attack.

  • Unlike in Melee the angles of knockback and knockback itself in SSB4 are actually more sophisticated. How can I prove this? Link's first hit of his Side Smash in Melee, or the awkward knockback of Marth's tippered fair in Melee.

  • @daniel DI exists in 64 to an extent but it works differently than the other games.
