Super Smash Bros Series's Classic mode

Let's discuss about the classic mode. I didn't like that they made it shorter in Smash 4. I mean, there were 12 Stages in Brawl, then 7 Stages in Smash 4. They made the final boss much harder in Smash 4, but Brawl can be harder because you can set to 1 stock life.

  • Also i don't like that you need to pay coins to play in harder difficulties. I prefer to lose in a hard difficulty all the time without worring about not playing it anymore because i don't have enough coins. It's like they want that i complete classic mode on 2.0 difficulty rather than struggling on 9.0.

IMO, Classic Mode started going downhill after Melee. Brawl's was still good, but Smash 4's is definitely the weakest in the series, especially the Wii U version.

  • Also, Classic mode opponents got more random and varied from time to time. The first Smash's classic mode had a fixed type and order of fights; for example, you aways fight Link first. In 3DS you fight depending on the path you choose and each path is themed around a series; for example, you can choose between Super Mario (Easy), Pikmin (Medium), and Metroid (Hard).

  • I thought of it better, and i noticed that they made it random so every fighter can be in Classic Mode.

  • Just a detail most people didn't notice about Classic mode: You and your opponents are handicapped depending on the difficulty. For example, in the easiest difficulty, you have 0% and your opponents 50%. In the hardest difficulty, 50% for you and 0% for opponents. It seems unfair, but it's still beatable, so deal with it.

  • Well, this topic is getting old and inactive, so i'm going to close it.
