Was watching Christopher Lee Dracula films last night (classic!) and of course that got me thinking about Castlevania,so today's focus game will be Castlevania 2:Simon's Quest.

  • Did you know there is yet another Dracula origin movie in the works. This time it's Bram Stoker's Dracula but with a twist. It's supposed to be about how a young Stoker captures a vampiric creature and keeps him locked in a tower. Each night trading meals(blood) for the creatures story and knowledge. i.e. (Interview with the Vampire)style.

  • Sounds a bit like that old Twilight Zone episode called "The Howling Man"....where the guy captured none other then the Devil himself.

    Yeahs0
  • The one thing that got me about "Bram Stroker's Dracula" was it stated that Dracula could be active during the day with his powers reduced...that went against every vampire movie I ever saw!

    Yeahs1
  • ...And that included "Kolchak:the Night Stalker" too.

  • Ah but Bram Stoker's Dracula is the vampire that all others are based. From what I read it's usually lesser Vampires that can't tolerate light. Although Chris Lees Dracula was always subseptable to sun light, even though in the Bram Stoker's Dracula he could traverse in the light but his powers were weakened.

  • Yet,it was a case of maybe I should have red the novel first,I did a few years ago, that and the "Frankenstein" novel, everyone told me it was boring, but it was actually pretty interesting.

    Yeahs1
  • Yeah Frankenstein was a bit of a tedious read, but interesting. Try Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. If you like vampire lore those books do a tremendous job.

    Yeahs1
  • You have to remember when "Frankenstein" was written, that was just the style of writing back then,I had the same trouble with "Hunchback of Norte Dame" or Mark Twain's novels!

    Yeahs1
  • I agree on Hunchback, very tedious. I was a huge Mark Twain fan though.

    Yeahs1
  • I think the only Mark Twain novel I ever actually finished was "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court",I tried to read Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer but I just couldn't finish them.
