From what i hear, doom on switch is between 15–20 gigs on the card, but if you want to play multiplayer then you have to download a 20 gig (give or take) update. Not good considering the laughable standard memory on switch. I imagine wolfenstien 2 wont be much different. =(

  • I knew there would be a catch to having these 3rd party games

    Yeahs1
  • I heard it on a vid i watched recently, cant recall what one exactly but lets hope its just Nin haters floating that rumor. But it seems believable, for me at least, plus i wouldnt put past either Nintendo or id/bethesda. It may be up to the devs/publishers to buy higher capacity sd cards, which they wont coz you know, profit margins. But its a proprietary nintendo sd card from what i have heard..

  • Hopefully in the future Nintendo will start supplying SD cards with the Switch console

    Yeahs1
  • ..so maybe they should lower the price a bit. Lol so good luck with that also.

  • Yeah that will be the next line of switchs, more memory, cant imagine they would bundle one with the console tho, unless they begin making nintendo sd cards, theyll likely just release a switch with 500g or a tb or w/e. For 100 £$€¥ more.

  • It's 16GB with a 9GB download for multiplayer. They could have just put it on a 32GB game card. DragonQuest Hereos 1 and 2 are on a 32GB card.

    Yeahs1
  • Better than a 20 gig download i suppose. Vid i seen must of been oldish, i dont remember what doom weighs in at on the xbone but its 50+ gigs im sure, i couldnt be bothered turning it on to find out. Which raises questions for the switch version, is it genius compression, or did they hack and slash the features and fidelity? Time will tell im sure, im double dipping doom.

    Yeahs0
  • But by far the most important question is, will it have a red cartridge/card, a–la Doom on snes?

    Yeahs0
  • They don't really do compression on xbox one or ps4 since they come on blu-ray and blu-ray's are cheap to mass produce. It's all compression. Botw is a huge open world game and that thing is only 13GB. Oddyssey is only 5.7GB, smaller than NBA 2K18 freaking save file.

    Yeahs0
  • No i meant was the switch version of doom genius compression, or will it be missing an arm and leg.

    Yeahs0
  • NBA save file is 5 gigs you say? Thats not good, but its EA lets not forget, shady practices from them boys. Bring back desert/jungle/urban strike EA, keep your sports sims.

    Yeahs0
  • Any big game will have to be compressed on the Switch. Nintendo compresses all their games.

    Yeahs0
  • Doom on xbox one is 70.5 gigs, couldn't help but find out. GTA 5 is 72 gigs, and Gears of war 4 is 94 gigs, i never knew that, and im kinda disgusted now that i do.

    Yeahs0
  • Only reason i download on those other systems nowadays is because the more you use the disc drive, is the sooner you have no disc drive. Cartridge media solves that problem, i plan to buy all switch games physical, except for those games i want that doesnt have physical release.

    Yeahs0
  • Ah, remember back in the PS2 and very early PS3 days where there were no updates at all; you just pop the disc in and play? Good times... And you're right, IMO NFS Carbon was the last good EA game before they became what they are now. Also, what's with console multiplayer games these days without splitscreen?

    Yeahs1
  • lol yeah, also remember the days when all the “DLC” was on the disc already, you just had to play for while and meet the demands to access it, not nowadays, now its the payadays. And also yeah, NFS, burnout, dead space trilogy, the strikes, and so on, EA has some gems, shame its owned and operated by the devil.

Files are going to get even bigger when it comes to 4K.

    Yeahs0
  • Indeed they will, lol NBA 2K19? 4.2 terabytes, and thats before the massive day one update.
