  • @Eric, it's called being cheap and out of touch with your fanbase, dude! Don't get me wrong, i love Nintendo, but they are dropping the ball with this one issue!!

    Yeahs1
  • @dr1up dude, i am a huge nintendo fan. but shutting down miiverse is the last thing they'd wanna do. so if they persist on shutting down miiverse, then they just lost a nintendo fan! well...maybe. but still, they have no right down miiverse. thats all i can say man...*sigh*

    Yeahs1
  • Ahem, there actually IS a reason, from what I heard. Nintendo has some financial problems (what big, rich companies call financial problems, anyway), and Miiverse is the reason/adding to them. Also, the Wii U is dying from bad sales, and people selling theirs. No more games are being released for Wii U. Not sure about the 3DS Miiverse. The 3DS ain't dying, from what I heard. And canceling it...

    Yeahs1
  • will probably promote sales for the Switch, which has ALL of Nintendo's attention on it right now. Proof: The Switch is getting new games by the end of 2017.

    Yeahs1
  • New games?

    Yeahs0
  • Wait a second...is miiverse shutting down for all systems? or is it just the wii u?

    Yeahs0
  • And no offense, but technically, they DO have the right to close down Miiverse, because it IS their own website. It's not fair to Nintendo that we're being rude about their decisions. Would you like someone to yell at you because you wanted to stop doing something? But here's some good news: There are a ton of Keep Miiverse petitions online for you to sign! Try 'em!

It's called moving on. Like every previous console transition, they stop supporting it's predecessor. Wiiu is dead and everything with it is being shut down. Miiverse was built for wiiu from the ground up. Soon the servers for multiplayer games will shut down too. It's nothing new man. This is the 9th time they've done it.

    Yeahs1
  • Oh...well thats a bummer...ah well at least now i understand. thanks guys. youve been a big help.

I remember parents being peeved when snes came out and no longer supported nes.

  • Ok bye. (off to play watchdogs)

  • @Lex + Dark Linkle, sure Nintendo might have it's reasons for dropping this service, but that does little to assure Nintendo fans that really care about Miiverse!! And i'll tell you something, i'm really disappointed at Nintendo for doing this and not at all happy!!

    Yeahs1
  • Nintendo could have planned it better & ported Miiverse to the Switch to continue it. Take Apple for example, you don't see them turning off the ability to download songs or apps on all their products just because they are old or discontinued. So far Microsoft is doing well with keeping Xbox Live up for the 360 even with the Xbox One out & the Xbox One X coming out!

    Yeahs0
  • Xbox one x? hm, sounds like a new system.

@Dr.1up, get use to it. It's been happening since Nintendo moved from nes to snes. There are plenty of apps on apple's iphone that don't work with the newer ios. I've got games in my itunes that can't be played anymore.

    Yeahs0
  • ya know, it would've been nice if they put miiverse on switch, but at this point im starting to doubt they would. but even if they did, they'd probably shut it down anyway. or would they? well i dunno anything since i dont have a switch.

They already said it's not getting miiverse.

    Yeahs0
  • Then what website does it have?

    Yeahs0
  • None. You can post photos you capture on facebook and twitter.

    Yeahs0
  • ...UGH! (plays minecraft to drop an anvil on my head)
