This arena nowadays reminds me of Draggadon from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, what with the rising fluids and all that. Given the many Zelda traits that wound up in that game, one would have to think that this part of the Helmaroc King fight at least partially inspired the tussles against Draggadon...
