why can't i jump!?

everytime i get thrown offstage, the game just will not let me jump. i don't have tap jump on, i'm not getting hit out of my jump, i pressing the correct jump buttons, i was on stage when i got thrown off, and my opponent is trying to edge guard me and is not going off stage. how am i just magically losing my jump?!

    i had my friend help me test a few things and it only happens when i am thrown offstage. i got hit offstage, i could still jump. i got hit on stage, i could still jump, i walk off stage, i can still jump, i get thrown on stage, i can still jump. but for whatever reason, when i get thrown off stage, i lose my jump, and am forced to use my recovery move. my only question is why.

    Did you use your second jump before getting hit off stage? If so, then your jump won't work, making up b or any other horizontal or vertical recovery moves your character has your only recovery options.

    lets see, i'm standing on stage, i get grabbed, then thrown off...in what instance can i use my double jump?

    the only opportunity i have to jump is when i am thrown offstage, which i have already said, the game will not let me.

    I don't see why it your double jump shouldn't work. It's also possible you might've been grabbed after using double jump just before landing on the stage. Thus, making the 2nd jump non existent
