To Andrew.

Why do you want Sonic to be a complex character when he is a cartoon mascot like Mario or Pac-Man! Sure we should all worship him but changing his character would remove what makes Sonic Sonic!

  • I'm not asking for him to be the most complex character ever. In fact, I find him to be a fine character. I'm just saying that we live in an age where characters have evolved, yet Sonic really hasn't. I know characters like Mario, Pac-Man and Mega Man remain simple, but with all the effort Sega's done to make Sonic's world expansive and deep, they could work on the characterization a bit more.

  • For some reason, I kind of agree. Sonic doesn’t seem like Sonic without his attitude. Sonic may often act cocky and like a jerk, but he is still kind and he does have times where he’s sometimes serious depending on what happened. If all of that changes, in which he lacks a positive attitude and in which he’s always serious, what part of him makes him Sonic?

  • They could maybe decrease the cockiness a bit, but aside from that, I don’t see any other change that’s required.

  • @Andrew Yet again, characters like the Ninja Turtles are obviously products of the 80s and people don't mind! And why can't Sonic have depth? If something as simple as Superman or Batman can have more serious stories, why not Sonic? And besides, there's gonna be a PG-13 movie soon so yeah. Also, if Sonic didn't evolve, then how come games like Sonic Galaxy have high praise?
