    Sometimes I wonder if Mighty no. 9 got its name from this particular piece of concept art… or how many hardcore Megaman fans here will even recognize this or my previous drawing.

    I'm certainly not the hardest of core Mega Man fans, but I knew somehow that there was some "Mighty" naming early on… Your last drawing (Miracle Kid) just rang a certain bell for me. :P Plus, Capcom used the word "Mighty" in some other NES games' titles, IIRC.

    I'm actually not the hardest of hardcore fans, either. I can't name most robot masters' weaknesses, I don't know the names of random enemies besides Sniper Joe & Mettaur/tool/tall, I haven't played MMZ or Legends… But I do know "Knuckle Kid" and "Battle Kid" were also deleted names. As for the "Miracle Kid", most sources translate "Senshi" as "Warrior", but it was mosIy English, so I just left it.

    If it's a Mighty Kid in reference that I can think of outside of Mega Man series is the "Mighty Kids Meal" from Burger King. It was a commercial from the 90s... or early 2000s... I don't know which one.
