  • Last I checked sound wasn't on the electromagnetic spectrum like visible light, IR, UV etc are. That, and being longitudinal waves, not transverse.

  • Sound is a waveform. Sound is audible from 20-20,000Hz depending on age. Most adults can't hear above 15kHZ. The VISIBLE LIGHT spectrum is 80E-18 to 40E-18. Both are electromagnetic waves. The frequency difference between the two is huge, but both waveforms none the less.

  • What do you think of when you hear UAV? Ultra Violet LIGHT. We cannot see UAV (f=300nHz) to 10nHz) because it is outside the visible spectrum. So is Infrared LIGHT. (1mHz to 1μHz) Sound is merely at a higher frequency on the electromagnetic chart (20Hz to 20kHz)

  • Although you are correct in that sound is not considered light, even though it is in a sence a light. The main difference that separates light and sound is that light doubles as a particle and thus does not need a medium through which to travel. Sound is not a particle, but it can act like light if it has a medium through which it can travel. Since we live on a planet with an atmosphere....

  • ...Sound always has a medium on our planet, and since we as people on this planet only use sound while it is inside this medium, we can essentially ignore sound's lack of particle duality. Thus, (After a long proof) we can think of sound as a type of light.

  • Corrections of myself Light and sound are both waves, not electromagnetic waves. I miss explained that. -The light numbers are not frequencies, they are wavelenghts. frequncy is inversly related to wavelenght and I apologize.

    Yeahs0
  • But still, sound can be thought of as light without wave-particle duality.

    Yeahs0
  • Fun fact. since light acts as a particle, we can use it as a medium for sound. But sound does in the process alter the frequency and the amplitude of the light.
