  • Me too. That's why it seemed strangely familiar.

Is this Jar-el speaking to Kal-el in the Fortress of Solitude, when he tells him about himself?

    Yeahs3
  • @Chi, you got it. The Jor~El quote as portrayed by Marlon Brandi is amongst my favorite. The original Superman with Christopher Reeves may be my favorite movie of all.

It would be amusing if the house of El emblem were present somewhere.

    Yeahs3
  • @Chi, lol, I didn't want to get caught up in that mashup. I just felt the quote was fitting.

  • Deleted by original poster.

Wow, just wow. Very impactful moment, and surprisingly fitting. Heh, if only you can see how much I'm geeking over this piece. On a related note, I loved how Superman Returns reused Jor-el's monolue from the original film.

    Yeahs5
  • @V I rather enjoyed Superman Returns. Brandon Routh's performance was a fitting tribute to the late Christopher Reeves. Kevin Spacey was a great Lex, I only wish the writers had given him something better than another reality scam( one on epic proportions mind you) but a rehashed evil plan from the original Superman. If you haven't gathered, I'm a huge Superman fan/geek myself.

Oh my.. that is one of my favourite movies! I used to watch it with my grandad, I think I cried a little! This is truely heart-warming and amazing, keep using your talents and you'll do great things!

  • The 1978 Superman movie...noted for having one of the longest opening credits in movie history! Also for Marlon Brando getting paid a king's random for about 15 minutes of screen time!

    Yeahs0
  • Actually,to tell the truth,I liked Superman 2 better... unfortunately after that the Christopher Reeves ones got rather dumb and pointless...The next one I liked was "Man of Steel".

    Yeahs0
  • @LoneWolf, actually Superman 1&2 were meant to be one movie. Richard Donner was shooting them together, but the studio wasn't sure if the film would be successful. So the split it. When the first movie was so well received they asked Donner to finish the second which he had 80% complete. He ended up getting fired for creative deferences.

    Yeahs1
  • @LoneWolf:all the Superman sequels Reeves wes contractually bond to do. He fought hard with the studio because he didn't believe they were putting all the effort or money they could into the films, even offering up his own salary to no avail. I liked Man of Steel as well. Cavil really looks the part.

    Yeahs1
  • They sure didn't put much effort in the scripts of Superman 3 and 4! It was like "The first two did so well,so let's milk it!!!" Superman 4 with Nuclear Man was just dumb....

    Yeahs1
  • @LoneWolf, yeah those were really bad. Reeves actually turned down Superman 5 because of that.

    Yeahs1
  • You really couldn't blame Christopher Reeves for not wanting to do another one after 4...sometimes Hollywood doesn't know when to just end a series and stop making more just for a few quick bucks...

    Yeahs1
  • @LoneWolf, its to bad because Reeves really embodied who the character is supposed to be.

    Yeahs1
  • Right,he was perfect for the role in those days....I mean George Reeves in the older T.V. show was good too,but he tended to exaggerate SuperMan a bit too much.

    Yeahs1
  • Although I like Superman I am not a big fan, but I have a lot of respect for Christopher Reeve since he is to me the best portrayal of Superman
