I might be done with Fire Emblem.

Between Warriors making everyone unhappy and people hating on others for liking games they don't, I don't see the point of being a fan anymore. Before you say 'like what you like,' why should I? So I can get called an autistic weeaboo and get threatened with violence? No thanks. You people ruined Fire Emblem for me, so thanks I guess.

  • you can still like fire emblem, just dont tell anyone you like it unless you trust them. or just ignore those people who bother you. i like paper mario sticker star, yet everyone hates it and says not nice things to me about it. but i know i like the game and thats all that matters. i know you said not tho say this but, YOU like, what YOU like. just ignore all the haters.

  • But what's the point in liking something when people will say you don't deserve to breath when you disagree with them? No joke, I heard of a couple who literally got divorced because they had different opinions on a movie. Also, when I critiqued Goku's portrayal in Dragon Ball Super and when I said I liked Funimation's dub... (continued)

  • ...they said I should stop watching the show and they'd send me to the fifth dimension. That kind of toxicity is what I find everywhere in the Fire Emblem community. Not only that, even on Serene's Forest, a place where FE fans actually grt a long, there was a guy insulting people for being autistic. Why should I put up with that nonsense?

  • because you know that YOU arent dumb, you know that others are not dumb. so when people says you are for liking something. you know thats not true, thats just other people overreacting on something you personaly like.

  • How about this. I said I like Lucina. Someone proceeded to spam messages on my post on how I should be 'grounded' or 'be his slave.' I couldn't even block him because he made a million different accounts. It got to the point where he PRETENDED TO BE ME. He was doing this to bully me off of Miiiverse. All because I liked Lucina. If I have to go through anything like that, I think I'd rather explode

  • have you ever talked to anyone about it? anyone who can do something?

  • We have a toxic fandom, there's no other way to put it.People bashing any game that isn't FE1-5,others saying FE13-14 are the best games and that they saved everything. There's wide-scale looting, rioting and jaywalking in the one place where we had gotten along.(Serene's Forest used to be such a nice place...) I know that feeling, and unfortunately it's common dilemma gamers face. (Read below.)

  • It's hard to decide which are the worst: The 'true' FE elitists that have Genealogy and Thracia shrines. That call them sacred cows that are immune and above all criticism. And Naga forbid you point out even a slight flaw... Or the 'really new' fans that haven't looked at the other games, they claim 13-14 were the pinnacle. They're both terrible, they're both wrong for completely logical reasons. ---

  • Now I'll be honest:I got into this through Smash, started with FE7 on VC.Then I moved to FE13 and 14,I thought 13 was decent and 14 was...meh.Then I went back to 6 and 8,I've seen 4 and I'm looking to find 2. Five games I've cleared, all at different times and with differing opinions.I'll say this,I'm not afraid to look elitists in the glowing, red eyes and say 'Awakening wasn't bad.'-

  • If I mention this to my mom, she'll just say I shouldn't come here. Thankfully the person who haunted has been perma'd for a while, but let's just say this is part of why I'm glad Miiverse is coming to the Switch.

  • 'Leif is worse than Roy statwise/growthwise'(<-I've done research on this, take away the Major Holy Blood growth bonus and you'll see) 'Genealogy isn't perfect. No game ever is.' If you like a character from a supposedly bad game;and ever encounter someone telling you otherwise, ignore them.Fandoms are seldom civil/respectable,but it shouldn't drive you away from a game you might enjoy.

  • @Andrew Man, I'm sorry that happened. One thing that helps me in these scenarios is to remember that most of these arguments are seldom logical and highly biased. When I realize they aren't even trying to support their opinion, I disregard it and don't get mad. And who are they to say what a "true fan" is? IMO, if one generally supports their series even if they like or dislike certain games.....

  • ...more than others, then you are a true fan. Those who only accept one side, leave them to their little bubbles. Walk away knowing that you are the more mature and open-minded individual. And btw, I'm pretty excited for Warriors.

  • Exactly, the fact that you have an open mind and are willing to accept(Or at the very have reasonable support for your opinions) what they deem insufferable is,nowadays,a blessing. Take it with a grain of salt, but don't let the fact they aren't willing to respect your thoughts and feelings change how you feel.

  • Thanks for the support guys. I just need some time to think.
